Please contact us in advance to book Taster Class(es). Anyone visiting Curtain Upp for the first time is given the opportunity to participate in the weekly classes (listed below) at just £1 each.A Taster session will give you, or your child the opportunity to try our classes before deciding to join the School. Classes are offered during term times only, and optional classes may be offered during holidays.
Students are asked to wear something comfortable and safe to dance in (no long dresses). Ballet shoes are not essential, so please do not feel the need to buy any to enjoy a taster class. However, each child should bring a drink of water to the session. If you, or your child, have any medical issues please inform the Principal, Helen, upon arrival. Parents will be asked to complete a Registration Form and read the School Policies. We are taking Coronavirus very seriously and are compliant with the government guidelines and advice offered by the leading dance organisations.
Natalie originally trained with Jane Carpenter and continued her full-time training with the Urdang Academy at Covent Garden. She has qualified to Advanced level with the RAD and is an Associate Member of the NATD. She also qualified with the IDTA . She has performed with Vienna Festival Ballet and in various summer seasons and has been featured in advertising and promotional work. For BBSD Natalie played Nikiya in La Bayadere (2001). In 2005 she was awarded the gold medal for Best Dance Assistant in the UK. Natalie aspires to have her own Dance Academy in the future and is working hard to gain as much experience as possible.
Grace has trained at Stardust since she was seven years old in Ballet, Jazz,and Street dance. She has worked through all of her grades up to advanced standard in street, and Advanced 1 in Ballet. Grace has a BTEC in dance with distinction and has gained her Student Freestyle pre associate and Associate Freestyle teaching qualifications with distinction through the IDTA. She has also been nominated for the IDTA ‘Bill Tasker Pre Associate Award’. We are very proud and pleased that Grace has become a member of our teaching faculty at Stardust and we know her modern technique and street style will greatly benefit all of our students.
Hannah has been training at Stardust since she was eleven years old. From a young age Hannah has trained as a Ballroom dancer, and with this she continues to complete in Blackpool each year in both group/formation and partner sections. Stardust Hannah has trained in Ballet, Tap Jazz and Street. She has reached Advanced level Street, Advanced 1 Ballet and Tap. She completed her high school training at a performing arts school where she trained in all disciplines. Hannah has gained her Freestyle pre associate teaching qualification through the IDTA with distinction and will be continuing her teacher training at Stardust.
Georgia started dancing at the age of 2 and throughout her childhood competed in hundreds of competitions, winning awards locally and nationally. She also appeared in many professional productions such as “Once in a Lifetime”, “The Wind in the Willows” and “Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”. She began teaching aged 14 for The Pamela De Waal School of Dance. At 16 she attended Bird College of Performing Arts gaining a diploma in Musical Theatre, her dance teacher qualifications (A.I.S.T.D Ballet, Jazz & Tap, all with Distinction) and was also awarded the Tudor Davies Award for Choreography. In her third year she had the honour of being asked to teach tap to the 1st years and those who found tap a challenge. She also attended a Masterclass with supreme tapper Gregory Hines who offered her a job should she ever be in L.A!
